The Origins: Names of the Days of the Week

Let’s explore the origins of the Names of the Days of the Week in the English language, and the pagan deities behind each. For that, we must look into several old and modern germanic languages, as well as Latin classical influence. Enjoy!

Intrigued by the thumbnail? It’s quite simple, from Latin classical influence we have 7-days week, and the week begins with the sun and ends again with the sun (Sunday). The way you draw a 7-pointed start is by the very top, beginning with the sun (sunday), crossing down to the moon (monday), up again but to tuesday, then wednesday, and on and on you go dawing your 7-pointed star passing through all the 7 days and ending again where you had begun – The Day of the Sun.
