Þórs Eik Tré

Þórs Eik Tré - By Arith Härger - Vikingwidunder Portfolio This is the first painting I did at the year of 2013.

Þórs Eik Tré – Acrylic on Canvas 30×40
The title of this painting means Thor’s Oak Tree in Old Norse.
In Ancient times people used to give great importance to trees, some were thought to contain magic powers. The Oak tree was one of the most important trees all over Europe and most gods had a tree as a reference to them, to Thor the god of Thunders in the Norse Mythology that tree was the Oak …tree, it is not surprising that most trees were cut down when christianity spread all over Europe because threes were a living pagan symbol. The environment around the tree was based in the vast landscapes of Portugal during the summer season. As a European country and one of the oldest to be labeled as a country, in Portugal trees were also sacred and people all over Europe came to marvel at the vast landscapes where the Oak tree is much abundant, there are more Oak trees in Portugal than people, at least it used to be. People make all kinds of stuff with the Oak wood and its bark.

  1. Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on. Any suggestions?|
